Tweaked something in my back at the gym Friday night so I didn't get many things done this weekend. Worked on the nursery a little bit at the peak of the advil, but not enough to really post up anything here.
It feels better today and I slept much better last night than Saturday night, but it was still a long weekend... makes for a tired Monday morning.
Every time I check the clock today it's 5 minutes later. Hate Fridays like this...
This weekend is going to be project weekend. I think Dave, Tim and I are finishing up the privacy fence over at Dave's house tomorrow morning. And I need to finish up the chair rail moulding and painting in the nursery this weekend so we can get everything moved in up there and in place. IF that happens... and that's a big IF... I'll make sure to put up a few photos of the progress.
So that only took a couple minutes to write - hour and a half or so left still before the gym and then the weekend....... tick, tock.... tick, tock....
Our baby got his first two outfits the other night - a gift from Tim and Kristi.
They are cute... one says "mommy loves me" with two giraffes on it and the other says "Look at me. What do you see?" on the front and "Our future MVP" on the back.
Not only are they great and we wanted to thank them again for them, I really like what our friends Ben and Michelle are doing over on http://thelittlebean.wordpress.com (The little Bean's blog) with their baby girl Jovie. She is going through and mentioning a lot of firsts. Things that years from now I know I won't remember. So, I'm going to list some of them as they come and go on my blog also - this being one of them. So thanks to Tim and Kristi for this first. Also thanks to my Mom for baby's first book, "You were loved before you were born".
I swear blogs were invented for me - zero long term memory it seems. It's always fun reading back through old posts.
Doctor's visit went well today - we're having a healthy baby boy! No complications or concerns today - huge relief to us both.

And here are two videos I uploaded to YouTube. The first one was the very first shot we got at the ultrasound today... good thing we wanted to know if we were having a boy or a girl! The second is the heartbeat and it has audio but the first one doesn't.
I've been meaning to take more pregancy photos as Christina has progressed, but like everything else in life lately I just haven't gotten around to it.
Also, I'm missing a piece to the studio light set I've got. Should be getting a replacement in a couple weeks. It'll be fun to see what kind of shots I can get then.
In the meantime, I finally grabbed the camera and took a first photo tonight... over 4 and a half months along:
Boy, is the baby kicking lately. Christina says the baby is active pretty often now and I can even feel kicks holding my hand on her stomach. It will be interesting when we find out what we're having next Monday to see if the due date is adjusted at all following the second ultrasound.
Also enjoying some really nice weather lately - mid to high 70's the last few days. I think winterizing the boat at this point is a lost cause and really we need to just take it out one weekend and run it around a bit then change the oil, fill the tank, add some stabil, and wait for the Spring weather to stick since I'm sure it'll get colder again here soon. Seems like even before I moved here there has been one stretch of 70's in February. I remember coming down in the mid-1990's to visit a couple years in a row in February it would be like this and I just couldn't believe it could be so nice this time of year down here.
Of course, I didn't visit in August, so that surprise waited until after I moved down, but hey, I'll enjoy these last few days and not think of the Summer heat yet.
Skipped the gym again tonight - still trying to get over the last of the upper respiratory infection and sore throat I've had since last Friday or so. Didn't get back until Sunday night though and the last of it is still hanging on.
Not as bad as Christina though - she had/has it much worse. Today was her first day at work this week and she was probably too sick to be there really. But, we've gotta save as much leave as possible for when the baby gets here.
The 16th is taking forever to get here - anxious to find out whether we're having a boy or girl. I'm using that as my excuse why I haven't been working more on the nursery. In all honesty though it's more a bit of lazy mixed with a lot of being overwhelmed.
I know now how people can get burned out at work. At one point today we had 57 active, ongoing support issues. We're still around 160:1 ratio with the three of us when most companies average 30:1 or 40:1 with many groups on campus being around 20:1 or so. However, every time I read a news website or watch the newscast on TV I'm glad I have a job I suppose. Though there are moments were I consider going somewhere and flipping fries for a living because we're that busy. Which is what I very well may do if things don't improve when the budget does. A new job that is, not flipping fries.
Anyway, trying to clean some tonight - a week of being sick and not feeling like it means you pretty much have to beat back the mess with a baseball bat at this point. Kitchen/dishes are done and the drudgry of laundry awaits. Should be an exciting night... but if it doesn't get done I won't feel like working on all the other projects I should be working on instead.
