Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Have had a pretty good day here - nice to be off work and be able to spend a whole day seeing Evan instead of him spending it at daycare.

Took a while since that last video but just yesterday Evan figured out how to repeat that lunging thing from the video in my last post many times in a row and he's just starting to move around using it now. It's funny - it's kind of a combination of that then he gets tired of it and rolls to help get somewhere.

I'm sure with his Granny Sue in town for the weekend he'll be showing off. Looking forward to the visit, I drive up to Charlotte to pick her up tomorrow.

We're still waiting for him to get a really good sleep schedule - right now he's still goes to bed between 6:30-7:30 after some combination of bottle/bath/cereal and usually he wakes up between 11-11:30 or I wake him up and he gets a bottle then too. Then usually he'll sleep until about 6-6:30 or so, occasionally less or more. Waiting for him to drop that late bottle.

Not sure if I'm headed out tomorrow morning to hit the stores or not. Will be the first time in years I don't I believe. There are some baby gates $20 off tomorrow morning, so who knows, I may still go. Not much else we saw that was worth it though.

Man, having a hard time staying productive at work today - just beat down tired even though I shouldn't be really.

Had a nice relatively relaxing weekend getaway to a cabin 20 minutes outside Abbeville, SC along with Tim, Kristi, Dave and Janna. One of Kristi's friends here in Public Health at work offered her the cabin for free for the weekend so we packed up the kid, the HDTV and dish, and a TON of other crap you have to pack up when a kid is involved in traveling and we made a weekend of it.

Evan was great while we were there and he slept really well. Took long naps and slept soundly at night on his normal schedule which was nice. The car ride there and back weren't as great at times - I just think 2 hours in the car was a bit much for a 4 month old. We did stop for dinner on the way there which I think helped him and it was dark already because it was Friday evening after work when we headed out there - so he was in his sleeping cycle already then anyway. No such luck on the ride back though... haha.

Shouldn't have even brought the TV and dish - college football was an utter disaster this weekend all around for all the teams I wanted to win and/or lose. Carolina is sitting at 6-4 now staring down a very possible 6-6 finish. This is why back in October I posted when we were 5-1 that I wasn't really all that excited about it.

Not a lot else going on... the kid is starting to get some forward momentum now. He gets his knees up under himself and starts to lunge forward. He'll be crawling in no time. Really need to think about baby proofing that living room sometime soon... haha...

(edited this post to add a video of the lunging we took tonight)

Made a couple videos recently of Evan - one in his bouncer while "Disturbed - Down with the Sickness" plays on the PS3 and one of his first time eating cereal (sort of eating it).

Been a busy few days for Halloween stuff, but a lot of fun.

Earlier in the week we went to a pumpkin patch for photos - er, for pumpkins... haha. We were a little disappointed in the selection at Harmon's Tree Farm, but it is probably because we waited too long to head out there.

We also took Evan down to Trick-or-Treat with the Greeks on campus at USC in his little monkey costume. He got lots of "awws" and had lots of the sorority girls fawning over him which was fun. Course, we totally used the kid to get candy for us.

And for Halloween we went over to the Harmon's again this year to trick-or-treat and then watch a pathetic excuse for a football game where we just kept turning over the ball to Tennessee inside our own 30 yard line. Anyway, the trick-or-treating and party was a lot of fun still.

It's been really nice being able to do things like meet friends for dinner and go to others' houses lately... Evan's really growing up quickly and he loves being around people and seeing the sights when we take him out. Very well behaved too which is wonderful!

There are plenty of photos from the last week or so too - been throwing them up on facebook each day because it's so much easier to post stuff there, but I finally had some time today to catch up the blog.

The first two images from the pumpkin farm and the Greek Village @ USC link to the same gallery, his 2-to-3 month old gallery on Pbase. The third image links to a Halloween 2009 from last night gallery:
