Well, I know it's a little early but we gave each other our Christmas presents this afternoon.
I got Christina a dryer and she got me a washer. Sad, isn't it?
Our dryer had been dying recently - motor was squeaking and the belt and tensioner were worn out. We'd had them for over 10 years and they were 'value' models - Roper brand (made by Whirlpool).
Anyway, instead of just replacing the dryer, we ended up buying a matching pair of LG brand models that were on sale this afternoon. They're weird too - front loading on both and the washer has this 'direct drive' thing where there's no belt and the motor is basically built as part of the back of the drum that spins.
Supposed to be pretty reliable from what's I've read online. Let's hope we get at least a decade out of these new ones like we did the old ones.
Another conference loss by one touchdown. In a game and against a team we should have beaten. Then again, I've lost count of the "should of" things Carolina football hasn't managed to do over the years.
Regardless, the team played hard the first half and our defense looked good all game. Stadium was absolutely rocking and it was a very fun tailgate and football game - until the second half that is...
We did get one very, very memorable thing out of this game. A ref in the game laid his shoulder into our QB while he was running with the ball and basically tackled him on the play... Sure, some say he was protecting himself (including the SEC league office of course), but it looks ridiculous:

We have a bye week this week, so the team will spend time practicing, especially the offensive line... *sigh*. They'll do that while the coaching staff accepts former Clemson recruits as the fallout from firing Bowden and having a 3-4 record this season continues over there. Today's catch was a 4-star running back from Manatee High School in Bradenton, FL, Ben Axon, who decommitted from Clemson and committed to Carolina! Welcome aboard Ben - we could use the help at RB... if you know any big talented offensive linemen, recruit them for us to come with you!
Just haven't felt like doing much of anything the last few weeks including updating this blog. (obviously )
Anyway, just a lazy rut, nothing more. Everything's been on cruise control anyway... work, sleep, work, sleep. Some football mixed in there - which has been great actually... we're 5-2 on the season after two road wins against Ole Miss and Kentucky. And Clemson's 3-3 and fired their coach Tommy Bowden. Now if Michigan wasn't awful this year the trifecta would be complete, but they're pretty bad. We play the defending national champs, #13 LSU, this weekend at home at 8pm on ESPN, so I guess I shouldn't really say much... hopefully it'll be a good game.
We went to the SC State Fair last night after work for a few hours... met up with Tim, Kristi, their kids and their sitter, walked around, ate some junk food, and took some photos. First couple pages of photos are of the kids before they all left for the night, mostly just rides and stuff after that:
