Cool thing happened while bowling last Tuesday night. Not great scores or anything like that... hah. No, in the first game Christina and I both got a turkey (three strikes in a row) in the 10th frame... and tied at 124 for the game.
Which combined with my pair of 132 games for game #2 and game #3 makes for a really awful night score-wise. Not sure why I can't seem to throw the ball like I used to be able to before...
At least we're having fun each week. Tim and Kristi couldn't make it this week so Dave bowled with us again and a girl Christina works with, Jamie, bowled with us for the first time. It was painful... she is funny, but she bowled a 45, a 57, and a 59 for the night. Hurt just to watch!
Even worse than the scores I put up was something I ate there - ended up sick until about 4am that night and didn't go into work yesterday. Good thing I didn't go in yesterday too because our A/C cut off... something's wrong with our condensate pump, so it's shutting off the system.
Of course the company that put it in right before we bought our house (so that they could write the HVAC letter for sale of the house) charged the previous homeowner $377 to install the pump. They quoted me $220 for just the pump itself yesterday. I searched online for the exact model pump and it's $36.95. Needless to say I have one on the way via Fedex 2-day shipping. Should be simple to install since all the plumbing and wiring for the saftey switch is right there already. Just swap the pump basically. In the meantime, I took the Shop Vac up there and sucked all the water, and a ton of bio-growth, out of that pump. Worked fine the rest of the evening, but since it's so cheap to replace I'm going to swap it out anyway.
At least it should be a good weekend coming up - we were trying to get a big group to go out on the lake again, but most everyone was out of town this weekend. It'll end up being 6 of us again with Tim and Kristi, her cousin Jessica, and Jessica's brother. So, we'll probably just take our boat and not worry about going separately. Going to be an evening deal this time - we're meeting at 4:00 and we'll cruise around for a while and then get dinner over at Quarterdeck and then get back in time for the Tokyo Joe show at Dockside that goes from 8-11. Should be a fun night!
Sitting here watching Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN... okay game so far, but I thought I'd post something on the blog anyway. Not that big of a Braves fan, so I'm only half watching anyway.
Had a pretty busy week last week with bowling on Tuesday, swimming over at Jane and Wendell's Wednesday, and the Columbia Blowfish game Thursday. A few of the guys got together since Kristi was having a Pampered Chef party at their house, so with Christina going to that, I thought I'd go catch a baseball game. They ended up losing, but no one really cared anyway, we sat around the whole time BS'ing and not watching much of the game really.
Also hit Flying Saucer a couple times - up to 176 now on my record, only 8 more trips left before I get my plate and my $100 bartab party. My life will be so complete... heh.

As for this weekend, it's been nice and relaxing... trying to catch up on sleep and after how crazy work has been the last couple of weeks, it's been nice doing next to nothing this weekend.
I did have DirecTV come out this weekend because when I ordered a free HD receiver, they shipped it without a new dish even though they told me it would include one. I already have the new 5-LNB dish on the house, but I wanted one of the new ones for tailgating. All new HD content from here on out will require the new dish, including Columbia's local channels in HD when they are finally available.
Anyway, the new dish is huge compared to the old 3-LNB dish that they used to have instead. Storing it and packing it up each week during the football season is going to be a pain, but that's okay.

Made sure today that the new Dell 24" LCD monitor and the new HD box they sent would run on my 400 watt inverter on a battery and everything was just fine. Not sure how much faster the new monitor will drain those batteries compared to the 17" one I've used the last few years, but we'll see on the first game...
Now we just need the season to start! ... seriously...
We just got back from our anniversary party. It's our 4 year anniversary today... and a total of a little over 11 and a half years together. Okay, so it was really a party for Andrew and Nikki... Andrew is Jane and Wendell's son and Nikki and he recently got married.
The pool party got rained out after a couple hours, but we had stuff to get done tonight anyway. While we were there, it was a lot of fun. Except that I still can't do a backflip dive... drives me nuts because I can picture exactly how to jump, but nonetheless I still end up just about hurting myself each time. In fact, one of the pictures in the gallery below when you click on the image shows me bellyflopping into the water.
This time there was one on the feeder and five of them on the patio below it. I guess I should hit the spring system on our feeder with a little WD40 since it's obviously not working.
Not right now though... lunch, finish cleaning, and then we're headed over to Jane and Wendell's place. Hope the weather holds so we can swim over there.

We're around 35 support requests in the hole right now at the same time I'm trying to work out migrating everyone over to the new domain. And people keep emailing us! This time last year we were dead - absolutely nothing to work on... now I feel like I'm being pulled in about 30 directions at once. At least 12-15 of the requests are for either new system setups or reinstalls.
Honestly though, requests like that aren't the biggest problem. Those can be taken care of in time and they're easy to do. It's figuring out how to move our users and their data during this migration with as little disruption as possible.
When we migrate a group over we move their data first to the new system and servers, then as we upgrade each of their computers they regain access. Not bad if a 'group' of folks were all located in the same physical location. Or if people from other groups didn't need access to their data also... that's the real kicker. It's a snowball effect because once a group is moved, people from other groups can't get to that data until we migrate them too. And then we have to move the new group's data too... which is accessed by yet another group. And so on and so on... it's really going to be a crazy next month or so.
Not really a whole lot else going on right now... bowling started a new league last Tuesday but I don't really remember exactly what I scored because it wasn't great and because we started the evening at Flying Saucer (up to 170 total now) at 4:30 and we don't bowl until 8:00, so you can imagine how serious we were. Besides, it was week 1 and we got all new stats, so we were sandbagging to get a good handicap for week 2 anyway.
I think we have a thing over at Jane and Wendell's house this Sunday. I have to check the invite again, but I think it's this weekend. One of her sons got married recently and this is a celebration/reception of sorts. All I know is they have an awesome pool and we're invited... that's really all I needed to know. Should be fun.
Happy 07/07/07... supposed to be a lucky day, but here it's just a nice day relaxing. Been a long week.
The outing on the lake last Sunday was great - the weather held up well, the water was perfect for swimming, and the concert was really good too. Only ended up being the 6 of us, no other boats, but there will be other chances this summer. Still a really good time.
We went over to Kristi and Tim's for a cookout on the 4th and had a good time. They had some family and friends over to their new house they just bought and all the food was great. Tim bought himself a smoker for his birthday so he had really good chicken, boston butt, and some good baby back ribs. They also had a new small kitten that Christina was glued to most of the day.
Today like I said though has been lowkey - finally. Been busy it seems every weekend for quite some time and it was nice to just sleep in and be lazy today. The only ambitious thing we did today was head out so Christina could get her hair cut. I was worried since I love her long hair, but it's still a little past the shoulders and when I saw how good it looked with the cut she got, it turned out pretty well:
