Well, it was the condensate pump being clogged. Has ran fine since then and there's a bunch of the crud I loosened up outside on the ground where the drain empties. No HVAC company bill is a good thing. :)

The last few days have been pretty busy at work... days where every single minute you're at work you're busy. Including working through lunch yesterday. But, it's all good because it's pretty interesting stuff for the most part.
I'm editing a new photo of the front of our new building... removing the power lines and poles and such. Taking around 4 hours or so by the time I finish, but this time it has a blue sky and the morning light is on the building instead of a stormy background. I liked the other version, but they thought it might not make the best public view of our building - with a dark cloud over our head. Can't argue with that I suppose. I'll post the before and after of the new shot when it's finished.
Been working on people's computers on the side too the last few days, so I guess work continues even after work. Fixed a guy's laptop last night who works for a company here in Columbia called Liquid Assets - a party planner for beverages... beer, wine, liquor, etc. When he picks it up today I'll have to tell him that if he's ever looking for a photographer for an event or knows someone who is to give me a call.
Still alive, just boring lately. Too broke to go do anything and not doing anything means no blog updates.
Also tweaked my neck pretty good last Wednesday working out at the gym and just today did it start feeling normal again. Slept on it wrong all weekend too which probably didn't help.
To top off the last few days, our A/C has turned itself off twice today. The thermostat clicks to turn the system on and nothing happens... no blower fan, no condenser running outside, nothing. Even turning on the 'fan' doesn't kick on the blower fan. So, I flipped the switch to kill the power to the unit in the attic, waited a minute, and flipped it back on. Turned it back on earlier and it started cooling down the house. Sometime in the next few hours, it turned itself off again. So, tonight I went up there and used the wire brush included with our condensate pump to scrub the PVC pipes and the inside of that pump and then fed a good bit of ammonia through the system to kill off some of the organics and sludge in there. It also let me test the pump to see if it'd kick on as I filled it up and it did twice and I could see the level of water in it drop, so it's running again.
Not sure if it was the float switch in that pump that was stuck and told the system to shut down or not. But it's been running for the last hour and the pump has run also, so here's hoping it was just gunked up in there and that's the only problem.
I've also been working on some logos for Doug, the guy who is going to run the Gamecock message board I've been a part of for years now. He's launching the new site and announcing that he's the publisher tomorrow and wanted some logo samples, so I threw together a few samples for him to look at:
He liked #7, but wanted a black border around it, so I added a second #7 at the bottom. We'll see how the situation progresses with the new owner. While only him and his son and I are Administrators of the site, I'm only on as a volunteer at this point. The sites can make a fair amount of money though, so maybe it'll become something more down the road.
Three long, long years! Ha... just kidding. In fact, while we were out to dinner we tonight celebrating our 3 year anniversary today we talked about how 3 years doesn't sound quite right... after all, we've been together for nearly 10 years and living together for over 5 years.
Happy anniversary to Nicki and Miguel too, btw... sorry I'm a day late... long week. Thought about you guys yesterday, just didn't post here. Hope it was a good one!
Btw, 3 years is "leather". Obviously this offers lots of.... exciting... possibilities for celebrating an anniversary. Us? We went to Longhorn and had steak. Cow... leather.... get it? :)
We just got back this afternoon from our trip up to Michigan. We split up both rides and got a room for the night, so it went smooth both ways.
Like I said in my last post, we made it to London, KY that first night. While we were at the hotel we got some of those tourist flyers and found out that Cumberland Falls was only 30 minutes from our hotel, so we took a two hour detour to go check that out and take a few photos.
It was a fun week up there... I got to help Brian out with siding his and Tasha's new house. The house is really coming along well and even though siding is a lot of little work, it's nice finish work because you really get to see what it's going to look like when it's finished.
We also spent some time out on Wixom Lake. Brian and Tasha and my Mom all live on a small penisula of maybe 100 houses with the river running on one side and a small bay on the other. The river is wide enough in areas to call it a lake though, hence the name. Brian and Tasha got a pontoon boat about a month ago so we were out on the water 2 or 3 times last week. It doesn't go that fast, but Brian did manage to ski behind it once. We saw a pretty good fireworks show on the 2nd of July out on the lake. We also went to Beaverton for their fireworks on the 4th where I took some fireworks photos using a technique I read online before leaving. They turned out how they were supposed to, but Beaverton's show is pretty small and everything is shot from the same spot, so it's not as interesting as some fireworks photography.
One day last week we decided to take a side trip up to the Mackinac Bridge (pronounced, and often spelled, Mackinaw). The bridge connects the upper and lower penisula's of Michigan... about a two and a half hour ride from where we were. We crossed the bridge to get to the UP (upper penisula) and boarded a ferry in St. Ignace to get over to Mackinac Island.
The island is a tourist resort destination where there are no cars and fudge shops everywhere - there's no coincidence their is ice cream known as Mackinac Island fudge. We were 'fudgies' for the day... what the locals call the people who come over to the island since nearly everyone visits one of the fudge shops on the island.
We took a 2 hour horse-drawn carriage tour of some of the sites on the island. A lot of what we saw is in the photo gallery I've posted on my Pbase site and I've linked to below. I went through on Pbase and on just about every image when you click on it I've included a caption below it about what it is or where we were at then. And yes, the fudge was good. :)
All in all, it was a great trip. I wish I was closer so we could visit more often and so I could have helped out Brian more with the house. It's still hard to believe he started with a lot and an excavator not that long ago.

Good morning from Kentucky. Yes, we only made it to Kentucky (and barely) last night... London, KY to be more specific. 3 stand-still traffic jams, one for each state so far except the ~39 miles of Kentucky we've covered so far. But no worries... lots of state left still... we'll hold our breath.
Needless to say it was an annoying drive yesterday evening. And when we stopped around 12:30 at the first town there was no vacancy anywhere... then the next town, still no vacancy. Finally there was one room at one place in London... a smoking king with a whirlpool tub. Woo hoo. ;) At least the room didn't smell bad really... you could barely notice it, so that's a plus. And when you walk in at 1:25am to get the room, amazingly, it's cheaper than normal. LOL.
Anyway, it's continental breakfast time... then we get back on the road!
